Writing in the Present Tense

Writing in the present tense allows us to create stories that feel as if they are unfolding as we read. In most cases, stories are written in the past tense, as if the events have already happened and are being told to us after the fact.

By writing in the present tense, we can create a sense of urgency and suspense.
