Quick Write: How was your day off yesterday? What did you do?

Using Specific Evidence from the Text

Now that we know how to Use Evidence from the Text, let’s do some questions for 10 Things I Wish I’d Known in High School, using evidence from the text to support our answers.

Answer the following questions in paragraphs in your notebook. Be sure to use direct evidence from the text. A good format to follow: Give your answer. Support it with actual words from the text. Explain the quote and how it supports your answer.

  1. Approximately how old is the author?
  2. Describe her personality. What does she think is important?
  3. Do you trust her? Why/Why not?
  4. What do you think is her most important advice and why? What can you do to make sure you follow it?
