And just like that, 2016 is in the history books! Today we will take some time to reflect on the year and think about moving forward. We will be writing in our notebook today…

By the way, notebooks will be checked January 18th.

  1. Reflect on 2016. Look at photos in your phone. How was 2016 overall? What were some highlights? What were some low points? What were some accomplishments? What were some failures?
  2. List some goals you have for the new year. (Go for quantity, not quality. No goal is too big or too small! It doesn’t matter if it is realistic.)
  3. List some behaviors (being honest, forgiving someone, standing up for yourself) that helped you in 2016.
  4. List some behaviors (lying, cheating, yelling, holding grudges) that caused problems for you in 2016.
  5. What are some attitudes and thoughts you’ve had that helped or hurt you? (jealousy, impatience, gratitude)
  6. Make a list of resolutions. (Go for quantity, not quality. No goal is too big or too small! It doesn’t matter if it is realistic.)
  7. Pick a resolution and write down small steps you can take to make it happen. Try to think in terms of daily or weekly steps. (Spend 10 minutes a day reading, go to the gym 3 times per week…)
