College/Work Resumes with Mrs. Pepe

21 Oct

12 Graders:

Mrs. Pepe has generously made herself available Tuesday 10/23 and Thursday 10/25 periods 1-9 (except period 2) to help anyone finish his or her college/work resume.  You can go during lunch or if you get permission from your teacher.  Mrs. Pepe will be asking for written passes, so anyone who does not have one will not be admitted.

It’s hard to understand the service Mrs. Pepe is offering, until you attempt to create a resume from scratch and on your own.  I wish I had her to help me with mine!  She is literally saving you hours and immeasurable stress, and giving up her own time to do it.  Please don’t forget to express your appreciation!

10 Oct

All Classes:  I will be showing you how to access Google Docs, an online word processor.  It allows you to type papers (much like Microsoft Word) and save them online, in the cloud.  Sachem has kindly set up a Google account for all students (email is disabled).  Your user name is your computer login plus @sachem.edu.  The password is “Sach.(last four digits of your school id#)” Here’s how to get on…

So if you had a student John Smith. You would go to www.google.comand click the “sign in” in the top right.

The students username would be jsmith2 (or whatever it normally is for them to sign on the computer)  @sachem.edu: jsmith2@sachem.edu
Password would be Sach.1234 (“Sach” “.” “last four of their ID”)“Sach.1234”
